This page is meant to provide a listing and brief details for the complete range of services available in the SFU Surrey Research Labs.
The following should be fleshed out
- Fridge
- There is a small fridge located in the HVI lab.
- $0.75CDN for any drink/chocolate bar/popsicle (when available).
- The fridge may NOT be used to store other food/lunch.
- Printers
- Cluster
- File Uploading
- SFTP to tirpitz.iat.sfu.ca, or to any Linux workstation.
- FTP is available to tirpitz.iat.sfu.ca, but is strongly discouraged for security reasons.
- Linux Workstations
- Need Hostnames/IPs - maybe auto-fetch?
- Windows Workstations
- Your research login works on these machines. Ensure that the 'RESEARCH' domain is selected for login. Your U: is your network-mounted home directory (shared with Linux). The Desktop and My Documents are local to the machine (ie no roaming profiles)
- Networking
- Wired
- If you need to connect your laptop, find an open ethernet jack within research and connect up. Please avoid disconnecting other machines.
- Wireless
- Research has 802.11g wireless access. Please provide your hardware MAC/ethernet address to Gordon Pritchard to gain access.
