This is the plan for a complete lab re-install in the Summer of 2005. Machines will be loaded with Windows XP and SUSE Linux. Each machine will be configured with the following applications.

  • Software Update Services - Automated Windows Updates
  • Firefox browser
    • Set as default browser.
  • Thunderbird email client - some people use this
  • Microsoft Office
  • PC-Cillin
    • talk to ACS about newer/alternative (we currently have pc-cillin 2004)
  • StarOffice - what about OpenOffice 2.0?
  • K2 client
  • Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader 7
    • Set this as default .pdf handler
  • Adobe Photoshop CS
  • Adobe ImageReady
  • Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Adobe InDesign
